Information we collect

Information collected automatically

When you visit the site, our hosting provider and analytics services automatically receive standard technical information, which may include your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, the pages you view, the time and date of your visit, and the website or search that referred you.

Information you provide

  • Orders. If you purchase from our shop, we collect the information needed to process and deliver that order, such as your name, email address, billing address and, for physical goods, a shipping address.
  • Payments. Payments are processed by third-party payment providers. We do not receive or store complete payment card details.
  • Enquiries. If you contact us or complete a form on the site, we collect the details you choose to provide, together with the content of your message.
  • Subscriptions. If you sign up for updates, we collect your email address in order to send them.
  • Comments. If you leave a comment, we collect the name, email address and website you supply, along with your IP address and browser information. Your email address is not published.

How we use information

  • To operate, maintain and secure the website
  • To process orders, take payment and provide customer support
  • To understand how the site is used and improve our content
  • To respond to enquiries and communicate with you
  • To send updates you have asked to receive
  • To detect and prevent fraud, abuse and spam
  • To comply with legal, tax and accounting obligations

Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases: performance of a contract, your consent, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the site, and compliance with legal obligations. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.

Affiliate links

This site participates in affiliate programmes and marketing networks. Some links are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you make a purchase. This does not affect the price you pay. Further detail is set out in our affiliate disclosure.

When you follow an affiliate link, the retailer or network may set cookies or use similar technologies on their own websites in order to attribute a purchase. Those technologies are controlled by the relevant third party and are governed by that party’s privacy policy, not by this one. We do not receive details of your individual purchases or your payment information through these programmes.

Cookies and similar technologies

We and our service providers use cookies and similar technologies for purposes including:

  • Essential functions — keeping the site working, maintaining your session and remembering the contents of a shopping cart
  • Analytics — measuring visits and understanding which content is read
  • Security — detecting spam and abusive activity
  • Affiliate attribution — set by third-party networks and retailers as described above

Most browsers allow you to refuse or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking cookies may affect how parts of the site function. You may also use browser features or extensions that limit tracking, including Global Privacy Control signals where your browser sends them.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, as those terms are defined under applicable United States state privacy laws.

How information is shared

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as described below:

  • Service providers. Companies that perform services on our behalf, including website hosting, analytics, email delivery, spam filtering, payment processing and order fulfilment. They may access personal information only to perform those services.
  • Legal and safety. Where we believe disclosure is required by law, or is reasonably necessary to protect our rights, our users, or the rights and safety of others.
  • Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case we will take reasonable steps to ensure this policy continues to apply.

Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy, including to provide the services you requested, and for as long as required to comply with our legal, tax and accounting obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete it or render it anonymous.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict certain processing, to request a copy in a portable format, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You may also unsubscribe from any email we send using the link in that email.

United States. Residents of California and of other states with comprehensive privacy laws, including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah and Texas, may have rights to know, delete, correct and opt out of certain processing. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in those laws.

United Kingdom and European Economic Area. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

To exercise any of these rights, email ash@coutureandbeyond.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding, and we will respond within the period required by applicable law. You will not be treated differently for exercising your rights.

Children’s privacy

This website is intended for adults and is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including serving the site over an encrypted connection and limiting access to systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

International users

We operate in the United States and our service providers are generally located in the United States. If you access the site from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored in and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction. Where required, appropriate safeguards are used for such transfers.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the date shown at the top of this page. Material changes will be indicated on the site. Continued use of the site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
